Social and sustainability issues are now more important than ever. The urgency and importance to make a difference grows every day.
The Partnerschip Verkiezing is an initiative of The Punchy Pack and the Rotterdam School of Management. With this programme we activate the voices of young leaders everywhere to become a part of the solution.
These heroes have taken on the challenge to develop a social and sustainable business case for their organisation, proving that it is possible to create positive impact with a business perspective from within a corporate organisation. They have done this working together with their executives and colleagues, with experts, artists, entrepreneurs, NGOs, government and fellow wavemakers, because they stand for a better future.
The competing changemakers of 2020-2021:
ABN AMRO // Achmea // Ahold Delhaize // KPN // Philips // PwC // Rabobank // Volksbank // Zilveren Kruis

Team ABN AMRO – Matchmaking
Rutger Dijkerman, Karel Goeijenbier, Jitteke van ’t Hek, Joris van Ingen, Merijn van de Kolk
Social enterprises want to scale up and look for opportunities with corporates to realize this. Only they tend to have a difficult time finding the right corporate and right person to talk to. Corporates on the other hand do want to create more social impact but do not know how and with whom to start. Our matching platform helps social enterprises to be matched to corporates. The bank will be in the middle for knowledge and as trustworthy partner.
This is an urgent problem to solve, as ABN AMRO can help accelerate the sustainability shift and create meaningful social impact by giving smaller enterprises a platform to initiate collaboration with larger companies. Because of the extensive knowledge of our customers, ABN AMRO account managers can make proposals for ‘matches’, creating even more added value for both our larger, corporate customers and our smaller SME customers.
There will be significant impact on both the smaller company, larger company, possibly the environment and external stakeholders. The smaller company will have benefits from access to a larger supply chain and funds. The larger company will have disruptive technologies which can help create a competitive advantage.
Team Achmea Health Hero’s – BrushHour
Tarik Eraslan, Esther Gellings, Noura Ismaïl, Kimberley van Hulst, Fouad El Ouazizi
Together, We Make Dental Health Care More Inclusive.
There are approximately 600.000 children (<18 years) who never visit the dentist in the Netherlands although caries is almost completely preventable by good habits and dental costs are covered by the basic health insurance. This is especially the case for children from families with a low socio-economic background who score worse on oral health. We strive to create a more accessible and inclusive health system for these children and diminish socio-economic inequality in oral health. We do this in collaboration with dental health professionals, secondary schools and local health authorities (GGD). By teaching children and their parents good habits and the importance of regular check-ups. Dentists will empower these children and enhance their oral health. This prevents extensive costly treatments and helps during adulthood as healthy teeth boost self-confidence, enhances general health, likeability and future employability.
Team Achmea States of Mind – Mind your business
Sheila Bronswijk, Jan Taeke Galama, Pamela Geubels, Lisanne Koetsier, Uggi Todorovic
Young professionals often do not perform efficiently at work due to poor energy management. On the long term, this results in decreased work happiness and mental health problems. One of the reasons is that the agenda is inefficient and not organized by their personal needs. They perform tasks while their mind is not properly focused for that certain task. With a structured agenda and by using the proper State of Mind (SoM), the same work can be achieved in less hours. Zilveren Kruis’ smart agenda planning tool (Mind your Business) helps young professionals structure their agenda efficiently. The tool actively measures the SoM of the user (with the technology of Maaind), and checks whether it matches the optimal SoM for the task at hand. If a deviation is measured, the tool attempts to alter the SoM of a user by suggesting activities such as a soothing music playlist. Proper usage of the agenda results in improved energy management, and therefore improved mental health.

Team Ahold Delhaize – The Store of Holland, the Blind Applications
Didi de Bruin, Nadia Hidraoui, Chamira Seugling, Dorenda van der Wenden
Our solution is an anonymized hiring and selection tool developed by Harver that should give every applicant, that applies for a job at one of our 1000 Albert Heijn stores, equal opportunities. Applicants will be selected based on their score which matches one of the store roles, rather than on their personal details or resume. This method prevents the possibility to reject applicants based on their personalia or appearances. It will help our hiring managers to eliminate unconscious bias and make sure they hire the best people.
Working at Albert Heijn is one the most important (side) jobs in the Netherlands. Even more, for many young people it is their first step on the job market. Using this tool, you will be able to select and hire individuals that are most suited for the job, which increases retention, decreases costs and will eventually increase revenue.
What is our product?
An anonymized hiring and selection tool developed by Harver that should give everyone applicant equal opportunities.
Which impact do we want to create?
A more diverse and inclusive world starts with providing everybody equal chances. Your personal details, including race, nationality, gender and appearances, should never be the factors in question whether someone is suited for the job. Furthermore, with this solution we wish to permanently prevent possible discrimination on the job market.

Marijn Hollema, Camiel van Hooff, Stefanie Kenter, Gijs Verhallen, Niels Vlug
KPN is making connections all through the Netherlands. We are the ones that makes sure that people can work, have fun and communicate online and through phone. However, more and more young adults find the amount of connections stressful, the quality of the connection low and even experience loneliness. We as The Network of the Netherlands find it our responsibility to make sure people stay happily connected.
One way people connect through for decades is sports, think of ice skating on the canals. Doing sports together is fun and approachable and proven to be great for the body and soul. That is why we will launch a platform where young adults aged between 25 and 35 can come together and participate in a sport. Whether then having a meeting inside we challenge the young adults to gatter around outside. Through fun activities organized together with sport partners we will make new meaningful connections more approachable.
Our product is a platform where young employees aged between 20 and 35 can connect with sport facilitators to come together and make connections through sports.
We want to make an impact on concerning increase in mental health problems among young adults by creating fun, approachable and meaningful connections through sports.

Team PwC – The Inclusion Experience
Lout Balkbir, Petra Neijmeijer, Amir Taghavi, Lindsay Welsh, Mare Westenenk
Our business case focuses on inclusion and diversity (I&D) in the workplace. With our case we aim to stimulate empathy of individual employees, by emerging them into an adventurous Virtual Reality (VR) environment. Here they will learn about the struggles of co-workers with different backgrounds that have led to them not feeling included in the workplace.
With this, we increase empathy for other people’s situations, hereby creating the potential to spark conversations and foster inclusive behaviour. Our case is based on principles that increase empathy on the one hand and real-life issues that diverse groups may encounter on the other hand, such as language barriers, handicaps, etc. Experts mention empathy to be fundamental for inclusive behaviour. VR allows users to truly experience what it is like to step into someone else’s shoes. Leveraging this VR capability, our solution will impact inclusivity on the work floor by enabling everyone to be themselves and fully deploy their talents.
With our solution we contribute to equal treatment of diverse groups and all individuals!

Michelle Bos-Poirot (Zilveren Kruis), Romy Elshof (Rabobank), Else-Mieke de Jong (Rabobank), Mark van Oosten (Achmea), Baibing Yan (Rabobank)
Many people feel the desire to eat healthier, but somehow find themselves unable to do so. For example, think about all those unhealthy but delicious food temptations surrounding us, our never-ending promise to ‘really do it better next week’, or this hasty lunch culture in which we gobble up our cheese sandwich while sitting behind our desk. Recognizable? Don’t worry, you’re only human! We understand that behavioral patterns are hindering us to eat healthier.
That’s why our HealthyPackApp offers you a fun and social way to overcome those patterns and to adopt a healthier eating lifestyle. Based on behavioral science, our app enables you to:
Team Volksbank Volksheroes – GroenPoen
Sven van Etten, Tessa Havenaar, Maarten Huitema, Maura Vaandrager, Emmelien Venselaar
We will provide an independent energy advisor from our partner Susteen in our 700 shops. Susteen will offer advice on sustainable housing to every new mortgage customer – directly after the mortgage consultation. The energy advisor uses the Woningverbeteraars platform to provide a list with approved suppliers by Natuur & Milieu. To ensure the customer follows up the energy advice, de Volksbank will provide a sustainability deposit with a low interest rate. In return, the customer gets a free and improved energy label after carrying out the energy advice, which increases the value of the house with 16% and monthly saves 29 euro on energy costs.
GroenPoen results in more house owners investing in sustainable improvements, resulting in a reduced energy consumption, better energy labels and ultimately a more sustainable built environment (Sustainable Development Goals 7, 11 and 13. Click here to read more about these goals: https://www.sdgnederland.nl). In this way, sustainability is easy, cheap and a good investment for the customer.
