The explosive growth of mobile communications in emerging markets offers amazing potential. It allows us to engage into conversation with people, previously unreachable through other communication channels. Since 2008 TTC runs social marketing campaigns, collects data and measures impact using mobile technology.
TTC started working in Public Private Partnerships with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2009 via the Schokland fund. They worked together with telecom provider Celtel in Uganda and American pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. Their first program on creating an uptake in people visiting HIV/AIDS clinics resulted in a 40% increase and was a huge success.
This year TTC became one of the fastest growing Dutch tech companies (Deloitte Fast50) and they are now working in 17 countries. Their relationship with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs resulted in new PPP’s, the latest one on creating Ebola awareness in Sierra Leone via text message quizzes with mobile provider Airtel and the Dutch Embassy.
